Having worked in an airport over quite a few seasons while I was a student, I have always known that it is a great environment for stories. There is always so much happening!
How would I describe this series? I think of it being in the style of Bob The Builder, with Airport Andy being the main character, the airport as the setting and each human or vehicular character as having a specific role to play.
What I wanted to achieve was a series of stories which would adapt into illustrated story books for children. The Grand Opening I wrote as a picture book for between three and six years of age. Flying Happy I wrote for 'easy readers' aged five to nine years.
The vision was to produce something which could also adapt well to television production and merchandising. We can all dream, right?!
Here are some links to sample stories. Enjoy!
