Imagine if money became worthless, that working within the conventional sense was simply not worth your time or effort. Imagine a world where society reverts back to a barter economy, where the boundaries of legality becomes blurred and one’s outlook becomes as short term as getting food on the the table tomorrow.
This is the concept for my first foray into writing a screenplay series for television.
Kelvin Lourde is a man already struggling to provide for his family when he loses his job and, with prospects bleak, makes drastic decisions to ensure those he cares about are provided for. An honest man at heart, he launches into a battle between doing what he needs to and the steady displacement of his moral code.
His decisions and actions are like ripples in a pond; it starts close to home but the effect become more far reaching than he ever imagined. Power, morals and responsibility are not always in balance. Especially when times are tough and people will do what they must to survive…
